to earn BSA Horsemanship Merit Badge. Prerequisite: Student must be a Boy Scout.

















Horse Fan GS131: This course focuses on the requirements to earn the Girl Scout Horse Fan
Merit Badge. Prerequisite: Student must be a Girl Scout.

Horse Rider GS231: This course focuses on the requirements to earn the Girl Scout Horse Rider
Merit Badge. Prerequisite: GS131.

Horse Sense GS301: Individualized instruction and training to learn the skills and technology
requirements to earn Interest Project Patch.


Love, Hug, & Groom (Fun Patch): Introduction to horses, barn tour, hands-on grooming & more!
Duration: 1 hour

Just Horsin' Around (Triad): Earn this try-it patch by learning horse safety & handling, various
breeds and uses, tack & protective riding gear, stall maintenance, horse anatomy, grooming, and
more! Duration: 2 hours

The Fun Patch and Triad Patch above can be earned in a combined
